Inbox and website chat
Add a chat bubble to your website
Let website visitors message you. Their chats land in the inbox with everything else.

Website chat puts a small bubble on your site. Messages land in the Inbox, and your replies reach the visitor straight away.
Set it up
- Open the Inbox.
- Use the Saved replies and website chat button beside the Inbox title, and choose Website chat.
- Write a Greeting. It's the first thing visitors read.
- Write an Away message. It shows when nobody has replied after two minutes.
- Pick a Colour, and choose whether to Ask visitors for their name, email and phone. You need at least an email or a phone number so you can reach them.
- Turn on Show the chat bubble on your website, and save.
Put it on your website
- Under Add it to your website, choose Copy code.
- Paste it just before
</body>on every page. - Choose Try it to test it.
If you're not sure where that goes, send the code to whoever looks after your website.
What happens with a chat
Visitors are matched to a contact by their email or phone number, or added as a new one. You reply from the Inbox like any other message.
